Dr. Yafa Minazad is Huntington Hospital’s Medical Director of the Neurophysiology and Intraoperative Laboratory; attending staff at the hospital; an active member of the Epilepsy & Brain Mapping program; Co-Director of the Neurology curriculum for the hospital’s Internal Medicine Residency program; and a member of the Code Stroke Team. She is also a clinical professor at the Department of Neurology at LAC+USC, Keck School of Medicine. She is in private practice at Southern California Neurology Consultants.

Dr. Minazad was preeminent in the development of Huntington Hospital’s Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (NIOM) division in 2007. The purpose of NIOM is to provide critical information during surgeries that might put a patient’s spine or brain at risk. NIOM was accredited by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET). NIOM is proud to be one of the first seven laboratories in the nation to be accredited by ABRET, among them laboratories at UCLA, Stanford, Columbia and Johns Hopkins.
