About Dr. Michael Malamed:

Dr. Michael S. Malamed was born in Cape Town, South Africa and grew up in Toronto, Canada where he graduated from the Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto High School in 1983. He then went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Toronto, Canada. In 1993 Dr. Malamed graduated medical school from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University in Tel Aviv, Israel. He then moved to Los Angeles where he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at UCLA from 1993 through 1996.

After residency, Dr. Malamed went on to complete the prestigious Kennamer Fellowship, a one year post graduate training program in General Internal Medicine. After his Fellowship training, Dr. Malamed remained on staff as an Assistant Professor at UCLA for three years, splitting his time managing practices in both Westwood and Sherman Oaks. In 2000, he transitioned into private practice with Dr. David Grossman solely based in the Sherman Oaks area.

During his time working in Sherman Oaks, Dr. Malamed was closely affiliated with Sherman Oaks Hospital where he served as the Chief of Medicine from 2004-2007 and then Chief of Staff from 2007-2010. In addition Dr. Malamed served as the Chairman and Director of the Continuing Medical Education Committee at Sherman Oaks Hospital from 2004-2010. Dr. Malamed and Dr. Grossman remained in practice in Sherman Oaks until they relocated to their new office in Tarzana in December 2010.

Dr. Malamed has a warm and friendly disposition and provides patients with the highest standard of patient care. He maintains excellent relationships with all of his patients by carefully listening to their medical concerns. Dr. Malamed is committed to providing high quality, competent and compassionate health care to each of his patients. Although Dr. Malamed has lived in several countries including South Africa, Canada, Australia, England and Israel, he is thrilled to call Los Angeles his home. In his spare time, Dr. Malamed enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Maria, and their two children, Chase and Joe.
